Co-created by Amy Morales and Elizabeth Garcia

This project was made by students, we appreciate your support in aiding us to continue doing this work for free.

This is an in-depth look at three stories from LGBTQ+ Cuban refugees who arrived in Miami in the 80’s on the Mariel Boatlift. Amy and Liz have done an incredible job of using archival images along with their own photography skills, writing, design, and interviewing; to bring this story to life with grace, dignity, and deep respect for their relatives and ancestral lineages. Representation is always important, and we are so honored to debut this project showcasing the lives of elder queers. We see you, we uplift you, we continue to learn and grow alongside you. Massive congrats to Amy and Liz, for bringing this into the world and for trusting us to be the vessel through which it crystalized.
