Clear As Black is an investigative documentary approach to the illusion of identity through a sub culture of a rare type of albinism found in Puerto Rico. It is a deeply personal project exploring the diaspora within Latinx ethnicity through the study of identity and community found in the stories of folks who have the condition of albinism on the island. Because of the nature and relevance of this project, it is still on going. Stuart Hall, cultural theorist and sociologist, said, “Identities are formed at the unstable point where personal lives meet the narrative of history. Identity is an ever-unfinished conversation.”
